Week 37: Hey!!

Hey!
So the transfer ended, and I’m in my 2nd with Sister Mello. She’s literally my best friend. Sometimes we just sit there and we’re like wow, you’re my best friend. hahah It’s so funny. I hope we can have one more after this together, but we’ll see!!

My trainer, Sis Costa finished the mission!! She called me on Friday! She called the elders to do a conference with me and she just wanted to say bye to me. It was cute. She said “Wow your Portuguese is so much better!” hahaa. She was super sweet so that was fun.

So Uirajá will be baptized on Sunday after church! Im so excited. He is so determined, its so cool! He came to church in a ful on suit on Sunday, and had a little grocery bag with his BOM and all the pamphlets we gave him in the lesson … cutest thing ever. We’re trying to work with his sons (he has 6 kids) but they dont have a whooooole lot of interest. But that’ll change with his example. My hope is that after his baptism, we can teach his wife and kids more and then he can baptize them all!! Can you imagine!??! There’s a talk called begin with the end in mind, by Russell M Nelson. It talks about imagining your investigators in white at the temple, and I seriously do that!! And I tell them all “Oh my gosh its gonna be so cute when you and your wife are sealed in the temple!!” they get all excited.

V is doing well. He’s close to baptism, but just wants a little more time. Im hoping next week he’ll be baptized!!!

We had divisions on Tuesday, I stayed in Olinda with Sis Rammell and Sis Mello went to Recife with Sis Notice. Sis Ramell also finished the mission! So weird. Last time with her. But she goes to BYU so I’ll see her when we get back! So weird seeing people go home. I remembered when I arrived in the mission, we slept at her house the first night and I was like almost crying to her in Englush saying how scared I was and she was super sweet! Ill never forget that!

Happy Halloween BTW! So weird that this is the first time in my life not celebrating Halloween. I didnt even remember until i saw your emails. No candy corn 😦 sad!

OH MY GOSH I ALMOST FORGOT!!! You know how I was having trouble sleeping last week bc of the heat? Reginaldo, the guy that takes care of all the houses in the mission, called me Tuesday morning and said “I have a present for you, Air conditioniing!!!” AHhaha it was so bizarre, bc its not like I complained to someone or something but I think HF hooked it up big time,. I was so stoked! So he put air conditioning in our bedroom so now it’s cold at night and it’s so nice!!! We get ready in our bedroom because its so nice to be somewhere cold. But that was a huge blessing, even if it sounds silly.

The heat is soooooo real here, I melt. every day. but its okay because we both sweat together and when we arrive people give us water and a fan at our faces haha

Im trying to think of other things that happened this week, hmmmmm

I think thats it!

I realy wanna take you guys to Brasil someday! I think youll like it, some parts at least 😉

Sometimes I wake up and think “Where am I?” Still, after 9 months. I sometimes cant belive that Im actually on a mission!!! Who would’ve guessed!? I think HF knew all along and little by little I was being prepared for this. Im so happy for this decision. If everyone knew how a mission really was, EVERYONE would serve a mission. It’s a once in a lifetime experience. There’s nothing like it! I think it’s something you cant fully understand unless you do it. I had no idea what a mission really was before. Im so thankful for this experience. I get so stoked seeing my progress! I know that’s selfish and silly, because a mission isn’t about me. But I learn something and im like “Wow, when the heck would I have learned this if I hadn’t gone on a mission?!” Or “Wow this is such a good lesson that will help me as a wife, mom, etc.” Also, I feel so much more confident for future church callings, like talking about the gospel is so natural now. I love learning! I love the holy ghost, who is the best teacher. I love studying about the gospel. Its so interesting and so perfect.

Read the scriptures as a family!!!!! Por favor. You guys will be blessed. The BOM has everything we need! Read it and see how it applies to your life.

You guys are so awesome! Be safe and don’t forget that I love you soooo much! You are all so special to me.
